  • ABOUT US. Learn about our History, starting with the early Brainstorming and the Collaboration and efforts among Czech Texans in multiple Texas Czech Organizations that culminated in the building of the center, and the development of a comprehensive Mission Statement.   • It's easy to join our membership and/or support our center.

    Benefits of membership include; the newsletter, Nás Ceský Zivot (Our Czech Life), bulletins, and the TCHCC calendar.  

    Annual Sustaining Memberships (January 1-December 31).

    Membership levels are; Individual, Family, Non-Profit, Corporate, or Lifetime.

  • The main building was designed by architect Roger Kolar, and completed in October, 2009. In front of the Main Building, find the paving stones, the brick memorials, and the Immigrants wall that celebrates and honors family and friends.

    Enter the Museum through the glass-walled Koliba Lobby; and find offices, Hanslik Hall Dinning & Meeting Room, the Willie and Mardi Kopecky Gift Shop, the KJT Conference Room, and the Betty Melnar Library.

    Located in the the Nas Novy Domov (Our New Home) Museum are some permanent features, and changing exhibits as well. Check News items for updated Exhibits, and Events at TCHCC.

    Specialized Tour Guides are available for a small fee (contact us in advance for tour groups of 10 or more); or you may use our brochure for a self-directed tour of the Texas Czech Village.

  • The Texas Czech Village, located on the Fayette County Fairgrounds around the main building , includes a number of structures that represent the lifestyle needs for a typical Texas Czech community. Some structures have been donated and re-located to TCHCC, others were built on site.

  • The Bill and Betty Melnar Library houses a number of research materials and resources.

    The published materials are available to read for free (cannot be checked out but limited copies can be made for 25 cents per page), and there are digital resources including free access to ancestry.com, and microfilm records.

    The library holdings include; books (in English and in Czech), Newspapers, Church records, Census reports, and other materials about early Czech family genealogy.

  • The Czech Immigrants brought their music to Texas. This section of the website is dedicated to Facilities and Programs about Czech Music and Czech Musicians. Visit the Polka Beat and learn about Texas Czech Music Events around the State.

  • Find gifts from the Czech republic, as well as t-shirts and other TCHCC gifts, plus genealogy and heritage books for purchase in the Willie and Mardi Kopecky Gift Shop.
